I guess it's never too late.
I just don't know if I would have the physical strength and mental fortitude to have a child at that age.
My mom was great though.
She was patient and loving - but then again she told me once that her fifties were the happiest time of her life.
She sailed right thru menopause.

-- Whatever your age, becoming a mum for the first time brings with it excitement, anxiety and numerous challenges.
But how do you cope when, to top it all, you discover you are old enough to be the mother of everyone else in your NCT group?
The story of one woman, one new baby, a slipped disc and rather too many wrinkles, The Secret Diary of a New Mum (Aged 43 1/4) follows the tale of a midlife mum as she tries to make the transition from experienced TV producer to utterly inexperienced parent.
One in five babies is born to a mum over 35, and the number of over 40's giving birth has doubled.
The first humorous narrative account of what it's really like to be a midlife mum - whether it's deftly side-stepping any questions about age and baby number two or weeping as younger counterparts ping back into their size ten jeans within thirty seconds of giving birth.

TODAY'S BOOK SUGGESTION:
by Sylvia Hewlett
-- A survey, undertaken specially for this book, shows that 40% of women earning $50,000 or more a year are childless at age 45.
So why is the age-old business of having babies so very elusive for this generation of high-achieving women?
Why is it that all the new power and prestige does not translate into easier choices on the family front?
It seems that women can be astronauts, CEOs, Secretaries of State, but increasingly, they cannot be mothers.
Sylvia Hewlett's powerful book looks at the hard and disturbing facts and goes on to advocate a new way of approaching the question of motherhood vs. career for a new generation of women.

When I was married at 40, I was told it was unlikely I would have any children because of my age and "old" eggs.By taking Clomid, I had my first child at 41, my second at 42 and my third (just before) my 44th.
I always wanted 4 children so we began to discuss adoption (because now my eggs were "older").
My husband was reluctant to adopt.
I did online research. Last month, in October, I bought Vitex (natural Clomid-like, Chaste berry) and took it between day 3-7 of my cycle. It is November, and my pregnancy test is (+).
I am 46 and will deliver my fourth at age 47!
