I received an e-mail from a woman I met when I ran the women's support group for my local infertility organization.
She conceived naturally while on a break from her fertility treatments and had her baby on her 44th birthday.
She was talking about how other women who conceive easily have no clue what infertility is like. It's still a bit of a sore spot with most of us, even after we succeed in having a baby.
Other people just seem to take for granted what a miracle it is to have a child.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
