47y just given birth to healthy girl

He sent me to a high risk OB and when I met with him he told me that while I WAS older I was by no means too old.

He told me about the 47 year old who had just given birth to a healthy girl that same week. She got pregnant naturally after trying for 2 years.

He also told me that his wife had their first child at 37 and they were again trying to conceive and she is in her 40's.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
