323 women 50 to 54 delivered babies
According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from the years 2002 to 2003, the number of American women ages 50 to 54 who delivered children jumped to 323 from 263.
In Indiana, 46 children were born in the year 2002, to women 45 years old and older.
How many of those mothers were 50 or older was unknown.
