I was 46 when I had my daughter

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Monday, August 30, 2010 | 1 comments

I was 46 when I had my daughter, and she was definitely worth the wait. If I'd had a choice, of course, I would have had kids much younger....but God had other plans for us.

My only 'fear' is that if my daughter waits until she is my age to have a baby, I may never live to see it. Longevity is in my genes, however, and I try to stay healthy.

I'm planning to be around for a long time!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

Wow! That's awesome. I am 10.5 weeks pregnant at 45. (my second, first was at 33 via c section). I am trusting God for a healthy baby. I turn 46 in April, and plan to have a c section the last week of March. Thanks for your post! You have inspired me.
