My mother was born when my grandmother was 44, I was born when my mother was 34 and my father was 40, and at 37 1/2 I am trying for #2.

My husband was born when his mom was 36.

Despite our "old" parents, we turned out wonderfully (a doctor and a lawyer no less). Everyone will love the baby irrespective of your age.

If you can do it, go for it and I hope all of the nay-sayers eat crow!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
