Hi I am trying to post my story. Got pregnant at 43, delivered at 44. We have a 6 year old and a nine year old and wanted one more.
My daughter was born healthy, and I was not the only one at my ob/gyn's office pregnant in my age range. We did miscarry several times, but kept trying, only using charting and ovulation sticks, no fertility help.
Post my story to encourage others to keep trying, it is possible. Thanks, Missy

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

hi Missy thank you so much for posting I am 42 & will be 43 when/ if I get pregnant and Im terrified and really annoyed at the negativity around older mums. I suppose its just a more extreme form of anti femaleness - if youre not a young woman you dont count if youre a more mature mum, youre history! luckily my mother was a mature mum & never let it bother her... wish me luck!
I have had two children (both healthy, amazing boys) after 40. No fertility. Assumed I couldn't get pregnant due to endometriosis. Honestly had never used birth control so really didn't think it was possible. Both boys were 6 weeks early for different reasons, but you'd never know it. They are 11.5 months apart and best friends. Motherhood over 40 is completely possible and amazing.
I do have a good friend who has used donor eggs in her 50s... She has two beautiful kids that are now 1 and 3. Anything is possible...
