I have a friend who had twins at 55 via IVF [in vitro fertilization] with donor's eggs......... She looked gorgeous with her belly sticking out at six month - seven month etc uneventful... Uncomplicated pregnancy and grey haired and all....... Just beautiful.
She inspired me, and also my sister gave birth to her 3rd child at 45 and the doctor has told her to keep going... If she wanted...
A few other women I knew personally conceived naturally and by surprise at age 47!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
