At 45 her daughter was born

I finally went to my first acupuncture session yesterday afternoon. I really felt comfortable with the acupuncture physicians, a husband and wife team from Taiwan.

After about a half hour of the three of us talking, them asking me questions and explaining things the husband left the room to check on another patient. He then came in and told me that one of the recent successful moms was there (for some non-pregnancy related treatment) and he asked me if I'd like to meet her. Of course I said I'd like to, so she came in with her adorable 3 month old baby girl who was over 9 pounds at birth. This mother tried to get pregnant for 10 years and had been through the mill and back with the whole nine yards of fertility treatment. Prior to acupuncture she had IUI's, and two failed IVF's.

When she was 44 she decided to try one more IVF, but her RE told her he didn't want to attempt another unless she went for acupuncture. So, she went for her acupuncture, despite, she admitted, thinking acupuncture was just a hokey scam! LOL! Well, the third IVF worked and at the age of 45 her daughter was born. One of her problems was that she had 6 miscarriages, so she kept going to acupuncture for the duration of the pregnancy and her daughter was delivered full term.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
