My RE [reproductive endocrinologist] told me today that the percentages every month are just lower for us 40+ ladies, but that if everything is fine I (we 40+ ladies) should be able to get pregnant but it would just take longer on average.
He sees it all the time in his practice, and he's pretty confident I'm not too old to get pregnant again. My regular doctor had two patients, ages 45 and 47, get pregnant last year with their own eggs and naturally. I live in modestly sized city, too.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
