As for being pregnant over 50, my 54 year old cousin gave birth on May 24th to her first child. She was in the hospital on bed rest for over 2 months, and was originally due July 5.
As far as I know the baby was naturally conceived. We learned of the pregnancy around Thanksgiving, and it was a big shocker! Thanks, I know it's not impossible, improbable maybe, but not impossible to become pregnant when you're in your fifties.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
