I just got back from the doctors clinic today, and I'm over 7 weeks pregnant. I am 45 now, but I will be 46 and a half when I deliver. Natural conception . . . and I am still in shock!

i'm confused! i'm terified! i'm 46 and will turn 47 this march 29... just now i made a pregnancy test and turned out positive...i have had a miscarriage on my 4th month of pregnancy last feb 2008, i gave birth to my 5 yr old son when i was 41, he was born w/ cyndactyl fingers (had it operated and is ok now)...i'm scared for the baby...
I found myself pregnant naturally at 46 for the first time in my life!! I was shocked, happy, and frightened. I heard so many negative statistics about advanced maternal age pregnancy outcomes. Yet I thought since Ibeat the odds getting pregnant (I read there was less than 1% chance at my age), maybe it is meant to be! Unfortunately it wasn't. Low progesterone from the start, began supplements. Ultrasounds showed slow fetal growth and hCG levels not doubling like they should. I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks (fetus stopped growing at 6 weeks) and opted for a D&C. I had a very difficult time accepting it. I still felt pregnant and had no bleeding at all. It's been two months and I'm still grieving the loss...but I'm still taking my prenatal vitamins. One never knows ;-) I like reading success stories. Please share more so I feel there is still hope for me.
