Nov, 1993 - THROUGH the miracle of modern medicine, pop-soul diva Ruth Pointer and her husband, Michael Sayles, a real estate developer, became proud parents of in-vitro twins last July. The babies were born six weeks premature and were delivered by Caesarean section at a Providence, R.I., hospital.
This was no small feat for the 47-year-old songstress who thought her childbearing years were over. With three children, Faun, 28, Milik, 27, and Issa, 15, as well as two grandchildren, the Grammy Award-winning singer thought the only time she'd be in a maternity ward would be to visit someone else.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
