At age 47 I got pregnant, but from the beginning something didn't seem quite right, and indeed a miscarriage followed.
In May, I had an acupuncture appointment, and that evening my husband and I met with our rabbi. It was to be the first of weekly meetings with us praying on our own in between.
Well, the next day I got pregnant! As I write this I am in my 20th week of a normal pregnancy. My husband and I continue our prayers. Every day I am awed by what is happening in our lives.
I can't say which thing I did may have caused our success; a friend suggested that it was my decision and belief in my ability to have a child. It has been a long journey, approximately three years. I am due a few months before I turn 49!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
