Baby Shock for Mother, 46
Baby Shock for Mother, 46
Finding out you’re pregnant can often come as a surprise, but it can be downright shocking when you think you’ve entered menopause.
That was the case for Deryn Minn, of Welshpool, Wales, who had been informed by her GP that she didn’t need to use to birth control anymore as she was menopausal, and therefore unable to get pregnant.
Yet, just eight months later, Minn, 46, learned that she was in fact pregnant with her third child. Speaking about her surprising news, Minn said: “[The GP] said I wasn’t likely to get pregnant at my age so I was really shocked and then angry when I found out I was pregnant eight months later.”
However, those negative feelings quickly disappeared: “I’m now really grateful to the doctor, because without him I wouldn’t have Harry and he’s absolutely gorgeous.” Harry is Minn’s third child and her partner, Dave Jones, first. Minn has two teenage daughters from a previous relationship.
