I am 46, my baby was born in March

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Monday, September 17, 2007 | 0 comments

Hi, I am 46 (47 in July) and my baby Clarisse was born on 2nd March, a very healthy girl despite the worry of my OB [obstetrician] (I did not take the amnio). She was conceived naturally after a few cycles and the pregnancy went very well.

Now we are all blessed by her presence, our 4 older kids are so happy. I was in top physical shape when I got pregnant, very fit, having practiced karate 5hours/week for 3 years. I think that helped me a lot.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
