I got married late too -- at age 41. At age 42, I had a very prominent RE [Reproductive Endocrinologist] tell me that I would never have a baby due to age, high FSH, and low follicle count.
I had my first one at 43, almost 44. Now I'm newly pregnant with my second and I'll be 46 in a couple of weeks. You probably won't have as much energy for a new baby as you did when you had your first, but now you've got helpers. I'm doing just fine with my little guy and he is quite an active 2 year old.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

I'm also newly pregnant at age 45. This is my 2nd too - had my first when I was 41.
Both were from natural conceptions. The 2nd is after several fertility treatments that didn't work.
It's so great and encouraging to to read all of these comments!

40smom - Somedays it's hard to keep going, isn;t it? I ind that we have to keep finding hope, and belief in ourselves and our bodies.
How is the Femara working for you? Are you getting much side effects? Any herbal or vitamin suppliments?
I hope you find success very soon, and a precious baby safely in your arms.
