My mom just got back from 6 months in Portugal, and there she ran into old friends she hadn't seen in years. They got talking, and she revealed what had happened with me, last year and one of her friends, whom everyone had always assumed had never had kids, told her that she got pregnant, with her first child, at 52!
She lost him/her at 4 months gestation, but the point here is that she was 52, no drugs, no intervention (we're talking a small village in Europe 25 years ago) and it happened after YEARS of thinking it never would.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
