Last time I was at clinic, one of the doctors asked me if it was a spontaneous pregnancy. I said it was and my consultant said to her that yes, I had no problem getting pregnant, just carrying them.
So we were discussing age and pregnancy. My consultant told me the oldest patient he had was 53, natural conception. She had gone to her doctor, he refused to test her. He told her she was hallucinating, that she was on the menopause.
So she turned up at my consultant's ante natal clinic, and he scanned her. She was 15 weeks pregnant. He said the baby was wriggling away! She had an amnio, and all was well and she had her baby. So I feel pretty young in comparison to that!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
