I got married late too -- at age 41. At age 42, I had a very prominent RE [Reproductive Endocrinologist] tell me that I would never have a baby due to age, high FSH, and low follicle count. I had my first one at 43, almost 44. Now I'm newly pregnant with my second, and I'll be 46 in a couple of weeks.
You probably won't have as much energy for a new baby as you did when you had your first, but now you've got helpers. I'm doing just fine with my little guy, and he is quite an active 2 year old.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
