I went out to a movie and dinner with my mother-in-law and her friend, who is 84. She asked me about my baby and I told her I had just miscarried.

Anyway, she told me not to give up hope. She had problems getting pregnant and had something done to her tubes when she was 40.

Anyway, she went on to have 4 babies AFTER the age of 40, all conceived naturally and all were perfectly normal and healthy. I told her to rub my arm to give me some of that fertility luck.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
