I got pregnant during peri-menopause at 45

I am in total and complete shock. I was peri-menopausal, had lots of symptoms even had hot flashes. I went to the gyno and was told, "Welcome to menopause!"

Well, here I am 10 months later and I am pregnant!! I got pregnant during peri-menopause!!! I am 45 years old, never been able to get pregnant before, not even with fertility treatments. I had given up all hopes of ever getting pregnant, and my husband and I have started making plans for our retirement. I went to the doctor this morning because I could not believe that I am pregnant, and they confirmed the pregnancy. - Susan

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
