I am 45 years old, and recently found out I am pregnant. I have 4 children: sons ages 26, 25, 23 from my first marriage and a girl 5 from my second.
We have been trying unsuccessfully to have another for 4 years using ART [Assisted Reproductive Technologies] and donor eggs with two miscarriages, had a myomectomy to remove fibroids.
Then out of the blue I missed my period, thought I was starting menopause but took a test to rule out pregnant and came out positive! I have since taken several more, all positive. I have my first ultrasound tomorrow, and I am scared to death! - Ingi

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
