My very best friend has a younger sister who was never able to conceive in her 20's and 30's. She had fertility treatments in her 30's which were never successful, but committed to stopping all treatments upon her 40th birthday.

Then she became a real estate agent, sold houses and even bought an enormous house for her and her husband. With her new pursuits and a big house to decorate she completely forgot about having a baby.

At the age of 45 she missed a few periods, thought she entering menopause. She was shocked to find out she was actually pregnant. Her healthy baby girl Kailyn was born just days before her 46th birthday.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
