I also married a wonderful man 1 month before I turned 43. It took us 4 months but we conceived our beautiful healthy sweet baby James.
I will be 46 in 2 weeks, and am currently pregnant again 8 weeks. The hardest thing was getting pregnant this time. We tried for about 18 months, had 2 unsuccessful IUI's [Intrauterine insemination], and then when we least expected it - got pregnant naturally.
I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks 2 days, and we could already see the heartbeat. Another ultrasound at 7 weeks and we could hear it 147bpm [beats per minute]. Everything is looking good.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
