I am age 44 and have two sons, 16 and 11, from a previous marriage. I married again in 2001, my husband had not been married before, had never had children, so we decided to try to have a child together.
Went through a year and a half of fertility treatment, three unsuccessful IUIs [Intrauterine insemination] and had just taken out a loan to do an IVF [In Vitro Fertilization], when we got pregnant naturally. I am going into my 13th week of pregnancy, doing wonderfully and am due on May 18, 2004.
It is possible - don't give up hope!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
